Four New State Head-to-head Polls
There were four more head-to-head polls to throw into the mix today:
- Rasmussen poll in Wisconsin
- Rasmussen poll in Georgia
- Rasmussen poll in Missouri
- Research 2000 poll in Texas
Wisconsin has generally favored Sen. Barack Obama over Sen. John McCain, but has preferred McCain over Sen. Hillary Clinton. This most recent poll shows McCain leading both potential rivals 47% to 43%
In Georgia, McCain turns in a 9% point advantage over Clinton (48% to 37%). McCain leads Obama by 14% (53% to 39%).
Missouri still goes for McCain, as it has since March. He leads Clinton 45% to 43% and Obama 47% to 41%. If anything, this reflects a tightening up of both races.
In Texas, both Democratic challengers have, until now, held McCain to only single-digit leads. The current poll, however, gives McCain a double-digit lead over both potential rivals. McCain leads Clinton 53% to 38%, and Obama 52% to 39%.
I’ll post new analyses that include these new polls shortly.
