Today I added two newly released polls from Clinton country: a SurveyUSA poll from Massachusetts, where Clinton leads Giuliani 59% to 36% and a Rasmussen poll from Maryland where Clinton leads 46% to 41%.
I also located three older polls from Arizona including one Grand Canyon State Poll conducted by Northern Arizona University [...]

Poll Analysis: Clinton Versus Giuliani

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

This post is the first in a series of poll analyses for the 2008 elections. I am going to begin this series by looking at the result of state polls in which Hillary Clinton is matched up with Rudy Giuliani. Increasingly, Hillary Clinton looks to be the Democratic nominee for the 2008 [...]

Poll: Referendum 67, Resolution 4204, and Initiative 960

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Washington state voters have some interesting ballot measures this season:

Referendum 67: affirms a law that protects consumers from shyster insurance companies
Resolution 4204: gets rid of the supermajority requirement for popular votes on school levies
Initiative 960: A Lyin’ Eyman initiative that requires legislative super-majorities or a voter super-majority for any tax or fee [...]

Fleeing Justice

Monday, October 29th, 2007

They didn’t catch the war criminal this time, but if this report is true, the quest for justice is just getting underway:

U.S. embassy officials whisked Rumsfeld away yesterday from a breakfast meeting in Paris organized by the Foreign Policy magazine after human rights groups filed a criminal complaint against the man who spearheaded President George [...]

Another Fake Cowboy?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Rudy Giuliani sure gets exorcised over little things:

Clinton has told crowds she would send “distinguished Americans of both political parties to travel around the world on my behalf with a very simple message to the governments and the people alike: The era of cowboy diplomacy is over.”
Giuliani [...] said such comments hurt the United States [...]

My, How the Mighty Have Fallen…

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

From UPI:

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice prepared for an upcoming Middle East peace summit by meeting with two former U.S. presidents.
As part of her preparation for the peace parley, set to take place in Maryland later this year, Rice recently met with former U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, The Jerusalem Post said [...]

Dinkins Appendectomy

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Former NYC Mayor David Dinkins had an emergency appendectomy yesterday.

One of Mr. Dinkins’s early visitors was Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, who spent three hours with the former mayor’s family during the surgery.

No doubt he was keeping an eye out just in case Alberto Gonzales and Andy Card decided to drop by….

Condi Scores!

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Who says Condi Rice has accomplished absolutely nothing as Secretary of State?
Here is proof-positive: Rice has scored herself an accomplishment!

The State Department with great fanfare on Tuesday signed an agreement with landlocked Mongolia that will allow Mongolian ships to be boarded and searched if they are suspected of carrying weapons [...]

Giuliani Considers Torturing Criminal Suspects

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Not just a cross-dresser anymore!
Now Rudy Giuliani hints that he would torture suspected criminals:

Rudolph W. Giuliani told a group of Iowans on Wednesday night that he favors the “aggressive questioning” of terrorists but that he does not know whether waterboarding, a simulated drowning technique, is torture.

Note that he misuses the word [...]

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Larry Mitchell
Redmond Prosecutor
P.O. Box 97010
Redmond, WA 98073-9710
c/o City Clerk
Cc: King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
Dear Mr. Mitchell,
Is the City of Redmond picking up the tab by prosecuting Jane Hague for drunk driving?
I asked this question of someone who works in the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and he thought perhaps so—that normally [...]

$196 Billion to Piss Away

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Unbelievable. For just this year, Bush has requested $196 billion to continue funding his occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq:

Mr. Bush’s request increased the amount of the proposed spending by $46 billion over the $150 billion already requested this year. Much of the added spending would pay for new armored vehicles designed to withstand [...]

This is Young Republico-Fascism Awareness Week

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

The Young Republicans are sponsoring events all over the country this week…apparently in an organized attempt to find the final solution to the Islamic problem!
Maybe I am being too cynical here, but this College Republican effort seems eerily like the pre-WWII movements against Jews. Just push a little bit here and [...]
