Sunday night I posted an entry titled I Hope You Can Read This pointing out that the server this blog resides on is located in downtown New Orleans. The hosting service is called zipa.com. According to their web site:
Zipa’s facilities include a 6,600-square-foot Tier 1 datacenter, formerly owned by Enron Broadband. The facility [...]

It isn’t a promising start for the rehabilitation of twenty-one year old Sean M. Gillespie of Spokane, Washington.
Last April, the former Aryan Nations member was found guilty on charges related to firebombing a Jewish temple in Oklahoma City in 2004.
After that conviction, Gillespie tried to send a letter to the temple [...]

Maureen Richardson
State Director
Concerned Women for America of Washington.
Dear Ms. Richardson,
I read with interest the Seattle Times article yesterday in which your group is objecting to the liberal bias of quotations printed on the cups at Starbucks. The coffee retailer had hoped to inspire “old-fashioned coffee-house conversations†with its The Way I See It cup [...]

Reuters is reporting that one of their journalists was shot and killed and another wounded yesterday by U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
Waleed Khaled, 35, was hit by a shot to the face and at least four to the chest as he drove to check a report, called in to the Reuters bureau by a police [...]

Many of us have suspected from the beginning that the U. S. lead invasion of Iraq has become the foremost tool in the recruitment of more terrorists. The great irony is that the Iraq invasion was falsely justified by the Bush administration as necessary for the making the world safe from terrorism. We [...]

And then there is this from today’s Police log of the King County Journal. . .
A woman reported to Auburn police that she found pictures of naked women in her husband’s bag. She told police she thinks the women are prostitutes who have been with him on his lunch breaks since March 1.

From www.chrisvids.org
While working on a political short film about the war in Iraq, cast member Sarah Rolan, playing the part of a widowed war bride, received news that her long-time friend, U.S. Marine reservist Lance Corporal Daniel “Nate” Deyarmin of Tallmadge, Ohio, had been killed during active duty in Iraq on Monday, August 4, [...]

Everyone I talk to about it says it will be tough, if not impossible, to convince voters to reject Initiative 912 this fall. But there were some encouraging signs today. . . .
A Seattle Times editorial, discussing the results of a statewide poll, claims that more sophisticated thinking may be emerging around the issue [...]

It has been all over the news since last night: Pat Robertson, televangelist, founder of the Christian Coalition and former Republican candidate for President, called for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on national TV.
Robertson claimed that Chavez was a “terrific danger†to the U.S., on last night’s broadcast of The 700 Club, citing [...]

Dear Mr. Irons.
I know last week must have been a tough one in your quest to be King County Executive.
David Goldstein, a pesky blogger, had the nerve to Sheehanize you by holding a virtual vigil until you “came out†with a public statement on initiative I-912 (repeal of [...]

American soldiers were supposed to roll into Baghdad two years ago with Iraqi’s lining the streets while cheering and throwing flowers down before their liberators. It didn’t happen—the cheers are jeers, and the flowers are bombs. America never won the hearts and minds of the Iraqis. In fact, what we can say [...]

President Bush is now a proud new record holder. According to The Daily Pick:
Heartfelt congratulations to President Bush, who on Friday August 19th breaks Ronald Reagan’s all-time record for most vacation days. The old record was 335 days, though Reagan took his sweet time of eight years to accomplish this feat. President Bush did [...]
